The
following are excerpts from the Letter No. Acad/OBC/2008/86 dated 23.5.2008
from the Registrar, University of Delhi:
“Where there is 100% admission through entrance test, the minimum eligibility conditions for appearing in the test will remain the same as that of the general category students. However, separate merit list will be notified for OBC candidates with up to a maximum of 10% variation.
Where a candidate does not have an OBC Certificate (non-creamy layer) in his/her own name, the Department will provisionally accept the OBC (non-creamy layer) Certificate in his/her parent’s name together with a copy of receipt showing that the candidate has ‘applied for OBC – non-creamy layer Certificate’ in his/her own name and an undertaking from the candidate that he/she will submit OBC (non-creamy layer) Certificate in his/her own name before 16.7.2008 (For various circulars related to OBC non-creamy layer, please visit http://ncbc.nic.in/html/officememorandum.pdf.)
The admission shall be provisional, subject to the verification of the “OBC non-creamy layer certificate” through the proper channel. If the verification reveals that the claim of the candidate(s) that he/she belongs to the OBC non-creamy layer is false, the admission of such candidate(s) will be cancelled forthwith without prejudice to such further action as may be taken under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code for production of false certificate/undertaking.”
Candidates
who wish to considered under the OBC Quota should submit the relevant documents
alongwith their application.
